About the project
The project is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) between 2015 and 2019. Based at the Institute for Modern and Contemporary Historical Research (INZ) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) in Vienna, its research team is international in scope.
A workshop will be held in 2018 in Vienna which aims at bringing together historians of comparative empires, borderlands, the Middle East, and the Balkans in a transnational setting. A call for papers will be circulated in Fall 2017.
